Founded in 2004, UDSA is committed to optimum utilization of digitization technologies for University libraries and classrooms. University Digitization Systems Architecture is a road map every university can follow toward the future of their digitization. UDSA organizes university students lecture notes, research and course curriculum materials, provides digitization and preservation tools to university libraries, course content management to professors and ultimately enables the student to leave the university with comprehensive, digital, searchable records of their learning experience.

Walk-Up Scanning Kiosks

UDSA specifies the use of walk-up scanning kiosks for the digitization and subsequent transfer to CD of: student class notes, course curriculum materials, student and professor research. UDSA also specifies each kiosk provide interoperability to multiple departments such as Interlibrary Loan and Archival.

UDSA specifies formats and technologies for the digitization and archival of collections for preservation and access. UDSA also specifies formats and technologies for the production digitization of any material be it student notes, interlibrary loans, professor research, course curriculum materials, etc.

Digital Interlibrary Loans

UDSA specifies formats and technologies for the production and miscellaneous digitization of articles, books and journals for the purpose of interlibrary loan. The specific use of this technology is to provide electronic interlibrary loans as opposed to delivering physical documents.

UDSA specifies formats and technologies for web based collaboration peer-to-peer software that automatically distributes information to everyone in a selected research, discussion or student group without overloading the universities current email system.

UDSA specifies formats and technologies for the digitization and ultimate publishing of university materials to the university website. These materials include but are not limited to, thesis papers, journals, reports and research articles.
